The Planet
Ethernita is a planet located in the Dark Hinterlands, close to Izar. Several ships have passed the solar system before 2382, but never entered orbit in order to obtain detailed information. First contact was made by the crew of the U.S.S. Batavia_ship. Ethernita is 30% smaller than Earth and the habitable area is many times smaller. The planet has one continent the size of Africa, of which 40% is uninhabitable due to dangerous mountainous regions. Although the Ethernitans only have a small space to live, they have managed to develop a remarkable society and a thriving economy.
