These Are The Voyages... is the test episode of the series Dark Armada. The episode had over 1500 downloads in its first week after the online premiere.
Synopsis
Captain Alexander Richardson goes to one of the Batavia's holodecks to relive an event that has happened in the past on the Pegasus. The crew responds on a distress call out of Federation space, after which they start to investigate. A ship called the Nautilus drops out of warp, after which it destructs the wormhole with a photon torpedo. Soon after that, she self destructs. Fortunally, the Nautilus' captain, Velock, won't tell captain Richardson what's going on. The episode ends with a vague man, mentioned in the credits as captain Scott, who tells he will let the Federation pay for the mistakes they have made.
Test Episode
This is only a test episode, which means the crew will test whether the equipment works as they had in mind. The script was made in such a way, many aspects of making a fan based Star Trek series, were tested. Of course, many things went wrong. The team hadn't put that much of special effects in it, such as massive space battles. But the episode had achieved its purpose: we've learned a lot of it!
Points Of Improvement
The following things could be better:
- The lighting could be be a lot better. That will save a lot of time in the post production.
- The storyboard should be a lot better. Timeframes, and more details should be in it.
- We have to work on the audio: we couldn't hear much of the text.
- Though it was only build on one liners, we should concentrate on more dialoge next time.
- The episode may have more speed in it. Some scenes went too slow.
