Synopsis
In the UK, there are a lot of Doctor Who fan films, most of which focus on one of the actors as the Doctor, rewriting the popular character with different and original adventures. A large number of these fan films are comedic in nature.
Time Ripples takes a different approach based on the 2006 series, where some episodes were primarily focused on supporting characters rather than the show's star. One of the most prominent episodes was the 2006 episode "Love and Monsters", which featured a group of people who were investigating the events caused by the Doctor.
The series will focus on the implications of the Doctor's actions among the general public. Unlike the classic series, there is more focus in the new series on the alien involvement in fx. on-screen newscasts. The Time Ripples team will feature a group of regular people, who end up in an unexpected position of following the Doctor's trail because one of them is more special than he initially thought.
Status
The project is currently in pre-production, and the script for the pilot episode is nearing draft. The primary focus is on generating manpower, either on the technical end (camera, editing, lights) or on the artistic end (acting, writing, directing). Everybody is free to join and the project has the support of the Dutch Time Travellers association.
Unlike Dark Armada, Time Ripples will adapt the episode plots to suit available locations and equipment. Some CGI footage will still be used, but the main goal is to minimize the combination between live-action and CGI, and thus avoiding the usage of green screen shoots.
The definitive format of the serials is not determined yet. It is possible that the format will be switched from the 2006-style 13-episode serials to the shorter serials used in the 1970's and 1980's, splitting up a full episode into a serial of 4 15-minute parts to allow for more flexible planning. Currently, the episode listing reflects the 2006 style format.

Notes
The major stories are currently planned as two-parters which can be split into smaller 4-part serials if the classic format is to be adopted. The series will have a serious plot, but will contain comedic dialogue and references to contemporary pop culture. The dialogue will be heavily inspired on Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica (2003) and Firefly. A large focus will be on character development.
